Let’s fast forward four years since making my move and decision to return back to me. I will catch you up on events between those years and 2018 in my Herstory not History section, but back to my point.
The kids are both in college attending awesome schools. Jaz attends Spelman College and Tripp attends Bethune Cookman University, so you would think I would be a bit more organized right?
Wrong!
It takes time to make the transition moms. You have to focus more on what you need to do for yourself, I am still so caught up in running around to help the kids (even though they are away) I find myself still unorganized and searching for my freaking underwear in the morning.
Really?
All it takes is for me to wash a few loads of clothes when I get home, dry them and put the clothes and my underwear in the dryer for heaven’s sake! Guess what? That is time moms for you to do something for yourself, yep washing your “Draws” as my daddy used to call them. You can relax with a glass of red wine (good for your heart according to Webmd and curl up with a good book! Just relax until the clothes are dry! If you don’t drink wine then tune into your favorite television show with a tall glass of aqua with lemon and or read a good novel. Just remember to get your underwear and clothes neat, clean and ready for work. I suggest you organize your under garments, clothes and shoes so when you want to pull together that nice outfit for work the task won't lead you on a freaking scavenger hunt! Lastly, get your clothes ready at night for the next day, it makes your mornings so much easier and less stressed! Underwear… now aint that nothing!
