The Regional Conference - A Dream Come True!

I have been waiting 20 years for my baby girl to become my sorority sister! On November 5, 2017, around 9:00 am I pinned my daughter, and she became a full-fledged member of Alpha Kappa Sorority, Incorporated - "Sweet" Mu Pi Chapter at Spelman College.

In the Amphitheater of the college, she and her line presented themselves at 7:08. My smile was from ear to ear, and there has not been a moment where I have been prouder of her.

Standing 5 foot 4 1/2 she is the Tail (last person in line/ #49) of her line, and as the young folk would say, "She was holding it down!"

We attend our first regional conference together and we both learned a lot! Yes, even after

being in the sorority for 30 years I learned more about my beloved Alpha Kappa Alpha!

I must say, how special it was for my baby girl to be initiated into our illustrious sisterhood the same year that I celebrated my 30-year anniversary of being made an AKA! I celebrated with my line sisters it was wonderful and with Jazmine joining the fold what a wonderful celebration it was!
